Spectacular Balinese KING RAWANA C
arved Wood Painted Black
Face Mask with a tall, intricate Gold Crown & gold painted beard with beautiful wide eyes, big white teeth and red lips. The gold filigree crown has inlaid mirrors.
Includes custom made lucite showcase and stand.
By artist I.B. Ambara Barong from Mas, Bali, who worked in the famous wood carving region in Bali.
This mask was the most prized work of I.B. Ambara Barong, according to my mother who purchased it from the artist in Bali in 1974. I have the original receipt.
This expressive and elaborate mask is nestled in a custom made lucite Display Case.
