INTRODUCTION
Dr. Frederick Humphreys spent his life teaching people the principles of good Health.
He was a scholar, a born diagnostician and a skilled investigator of disease – its cause and remedy.
He was a pioneer among medical practitioners to give to the world a simple system of home medicine.
The honor and esteem in which this great man was held is the noblest tribute to his life’s work.
He thought that he could do no greater good in the world than to place in the homes of the people, simple, reliable remedies, to relieve disease.
Humphreys’ Remedies have become a blessing in thousands of homes all over the world.
Countless people have found in their simple and prompt helpfulness the way to health and happiness.
Children, now grown men and women, will remember the faith of their parents in giving them these remedies.
Dr. Humphreys became an invisible and ever present friend in their family life; and there are thousands of men and women who have reached old age, who will tell you that they have had the greatest help in times of illness from Humphreys’ Remedies.

How to Select and Take Humphreys’ Remedies
Which One
Consult the index found at the back of this book for the suspected illness or its symptoms, then read carefully the account given of it and compare with the symptoms of the patient.
If these agree, read the next paragraph headed “Treatment” and follow the instructions given there.
How Many
As some of Humphreys’ Remedies are now made in the form of tablets instead of pellets, it is important to remember that the medicines in them have not been changed in the slightest.
The average dose of Humphreys’ Remedies for adults is two tablets or six pellets; for children one tablet or three pellets.
Any exceptions are noted in instructions found with every bottle and in the
proper section of the manual.
How Often
The frequency with which Humphreys’ Remedies should be given, together with the exact dosage, will be found under the heading “Treatment” following the description of every disease in the Manual.
The dosage and frequency also appear on the label and directions that come with every bottle.
Remedies in Alternation
It is often desirable to give two or more of Humphreys’ Remedies n alternation:
that is, first one and then the other at the proper interval.
This may be done when the patient manifests two complaints at the same time, as for instance:
a cold with fever.
As soon as one of the symptoms has been alleviated, the particular medicine for it may be stopped and the other continued until the patient has entirely recovered.
Diet and Care of the Sick
Many illnesses owe their existence to improper habits or careless modes of living.
Some illnesses, at their commencement, may be arrested by following the right diet and correct mode of living.
Diet, then, is most important for the sick.
Illness may become worse or prolonged because of wrong food or habits.
A correct diet, as well as the correct remedy, is necessary in order to expect prompt recovery.
Special diets for special conditions are given when required under “Treatment” throughout the Manual, such as the anti-acid diet described under the treatment of Rheumatic Pains; but the following general directions for diet should be followed in all cases where no special diet is described.
People who are sick need but little to eat.
The food must be plain, nourishing and easily digestible.
If there is no appetite, nature indicates that little food should be taken.
It is possible that some foods may be digested and others may be irritants, often aggravating the disease or retarding recovery.
As persons recover, the diet may be more liberal and varied and yet one should avoid the danger of relapse from overeating.
Feeble persons may beef meat soups, beef tea, fish, and fowl simply prepared – but always in moderation, as there is more danger from eating or drinking too much than too little.
Exercise should rarely be taken until recovery is well advanced, and even then in moderation.
If exercise exhausts the patient, occasions pain, or increases the temperature, it will harm the patient rather than do good.
All these brochures were found in my uncle's / grandmother's attic.
My uncle began collecting these from dealers about age 13.
Combined items reduces total shipping cost. I will combine into a 1 package weight shipping.
I use a sheet of cardboard so these don't get bent.
